How can I learn Vietnamese better?
Hi, I`m wondering how I can learn vietnamese online, books, etc, better. I`m Vietnamese and I`m getting worse and worse at it. And so, I want to learn how to not only speak it, but write it. I have a movie that teaches Vietnamese, but I don`t understand it at all. Please Help!
Chao, co. For speaking, the Rosetta Stone Vietnamese course is good. Check it out on line. You might ask for it for Christmas (or Tet). Is there a Vietnamese community near you, like there are in CA, Atlanta and VA? If so, you might go there and ask if there are any social clubs, etc for people your age. Also, they will have Vietnamese bookstores. Another idea — google around to find Vietnamese groups, newspapers, books. Another idea that might work — your local county or city government may have some sort of “minority affairs” office. You could check with them and see if they know of anything along the lines you are seeking.
