Is there any metaphors in this poem, or any other poetic device?
I am in my room sleeping on my soft bed
Then I am dreaming of earlier that day
Playing Hi-Ho Cherryo and watching Rugrats
I realize that back then it was a lot easier
No tests or homework
Instead naps and cookies
The only thing we had to fear was E.T
We only worried about what Pokémon card we didn’t have
Now we have responsibility and maturity weighing us down
I wish I could go back to those times when our lives were carefree and easy
I remember back then being so excited to grow up and be a teenager
It’s funny that now I am a teenager I don’t find it being anymore exciting then a being a kid
If I could I would spend my whole life as a kid
Never having to worry, it would be almost a perfect life
“weighing us down” is a metaphor
That’s pretty much it, although there’s tons of imagery.
Try creating a meter so it’s more flowy, it will sound much more poetic.
