How to Get your Happy Birthday on TV
Just imagine the surprise on your kid’s face, when he turns on the TV, on his anniversary, and gets a Happy Birthday wish on his favorite channel : “Today we wish Happy Birthday to Kevin D…”. And later the same special day, other warm anniversary greetings on the Radio : “Happy Birthday today to Kevin D…”.
There are many TV and Radio stations with online Birthday Clubs, where you can simply sign-up your kid or someone you know and get free Happy Birthday announcements. Look first for what is available in your area, because most channels are regional. Then go directly to their Birthday Club subscription page and check for age restrictions (the program is sometimes reserved for kids up to 8, 10 or 16 years old). To enroll your child, all you have to do is send an e-mail or fill-up a form with your child’s name, address and birth date. Sometimes you can also upload a photo or post it through regular mail.
Try to sign-up to these Birthday Clubs at least several weeks before your child’s birthday. Most broadcasters offer more than just a Happy Birthday on-the-air announcement: birthday e-cards, surprise birthday packages, free cakes or ice cream from their sponsors, prizes, surprise gifts sent through the regular mail.
On birthday’s date, have your tape recorder ready. Broadcasters will usually let you know about the hours of the day they make these announcements. Just tape everything and keep it for the years to come.
