Free Halloween Ecards

When you think of days on which you send greeting cards, you normally think of days like birthdays or Christmas.  On the other hand, there are many holidays that you’d never normally associate with greeting cards—I’m sure some store, somewhere, sells them, but I’ve sure as heck never seen a St. Patrick’s Day card.  But just because it’s not what we would normally see as “traditional” doesn’t mean you can’t look to free animated ecards in celebrating Halloween this year.

If nothing else, keep in mind that Halloween itself is anything but a traditional holiday, and so that makes it a perfect occasion for sending Halloween ecards.  Christmas and Thanksgiving, and most other holidays, have rather streamlined ways in which they are celebrated.  And even though it may not always seem like it, there is a pre-determined order to the way the event occurs.  But part of what makes Halloween what it is, is a complete lack of order.  Kids and adults both love Halloween equally, and yet the two groups celebrate it in entirely different ways.  Adults dress up in elaborate costumes and party too much; and kids, while they dress up, too, go trick-or-treating and spend the evening gorging themselves on candy.  And speaking of trick-or-treating, most communities designate a couple of days before Halloween itself as trick-or-treat day.  Can you imagine having Thanksgiving dinner on any day but Thanksgiving?  What I’m trying to say is this: if nothing else about Halloween is traditional, then why should tradition hold you back from sending Halloween cards?

Aside from all of that, you have absolutely nothing to lose by trying out Halloween ecards, because they’re absolutely free.  That’s right: you can browse the website, pick out your favorite design and click, “send,” and never spend a single, solitary penny—all it costs you is just a little bit of time.

Printable cards are now available, as well, for those who may be interested in ecards, but still like the traditional (there’s that word again!) aspect of paper cards.  Just like expensive computer software of the early nineties could turn your home computer and printer into a professional greeting card studio, printable cards do the same thing, but with one big difference: the price.  As in, with printable cards, there is no price.

On a day when people regularly dress up like rotting human corpses and flesh-eating zombies, does it really make much sense to worry about things like tradition?  I don’t think so, either, and that’s why you should give animated ecards a try this Halloween.
